Graduation will be held in person at TNS on Saturday July 25 at 10:00 am.
Because we are limiting our in-person attendance for graduation to less than 50 people to comply with COVID-19 public safety measures, we will be live-streaming the ceremony. The link to register to attend is available now on our website. We also have our live viewing link on Facebook. A professionally filmed version of graduation will also appear on our YouTube page.
Invitations have been sent out to graduating families, staff, student participants, and other community members. We are asking people who have received an invitation to RSVP to reserve their space under the tent. If you have received an invitation but will not be attending in-person, please let us know, so we can offer your spot to others in the community who may want to be in-person.
In order to shorten graduation, we have suspended a few of our traditions for this year’s ceremony. There will be no open microphone for community members to speak at graduation, and there will be no reception after the event, so no graduation cakes this year.
After their initial procession, graduates will sit with their family groups. We will have pre-determined seating that is appropriately distanced. Masks will be required when inside or when unable to maintain a 6’ distance from others. Other changes will be made to the graduation ceremony to limit person-to-person contact and keep everyone safe, but the spirit and the traditions we all love will be preserved as we celebrate and honor the accomplishments of The New School’s Graduating Class of 2020: Claire Brown, Devon Cooke, Jason Daley, Sam Nichols, Ian Pizey, and Nate Spielman.
We hope you will join us, virtually or in-person, for a very special morning!
