Amber Meagher
Amber began her English teaching career in Vermont back in 2012, and has since broadened her facilitation interests here in Maine into the realms of Humanities and the Arts, foreign languages, historical connections, and all things biology and nature related. In the summer months she can be found sleeping in her hammock or intentionally “lost” amidst the coastal woodlands with her ever-faithful trail dog companion, Annie Boom. She is an avid reader of all things composed of words and enjoys putting pen to page herself. Her constant questing for knowledge has wandered her through adventures that range in polarity from becoming a licensed dog trainer and behavior modification specialist, to wilderness safety and response certifications, to concocting various art pieces for local shows, to writing / directing / acting for the stage, to aiding youth with disabilities find and secure fruitful jobs in their communities, to feral cat rescue and rehabilitation, to educating -- and continuing to learn -- about living communally with the natural world. Soon she will have her Master’s Degree in Writing for the Screen and Stage, with plans to add teaching credentials to her license in the subject areas of Social Science and Humanities. She is a published author, a recorded musical artist, and a proud Mumma Bear to a wonderful young man. Currently she offers American Sign Language instruction at The New School and is looking forward to becoming increasingly more involved in the TNSK Community at large.
