“The New School is more than a school – it’s a loving community that embraces and helps people grow and find their place in the world”.
Cassie Sears, TNS Graduate
In 2017-2018, tuition is $11,400.00. (This is well below the $27,800 that is the average for private high schools in Maine.)
Families work together to support the operation of the school through a variety of ways. Families attend monthly All School Meetings, participate on a committee that contributes to the viability of the school, and assist with fundraising events and activities. We often find ways to accommodate the schedules of parents who are unable to make regular committee meetings or attend a particular fundraising event — for instance, they might assist with a mailing at home.
The New School is a “High School of Choice” for the towns of Arundel and Acton. State average tuition (approx. $11,400) is paid by those towns. Parents are responsible for any additional amount there should be, and are responsible for parent duties noted above. Parents must notify their school department that their child will be attending The New School.
There is a limited amount of financial aid available each year, and some scholarship support as well. Financial Aid is based on need, and parents are encouraged to apply when enrolling.
