Intermediate (and Beyond!) Crochet Class — Choosing a Pattern & Materials

Learn how to choose and read patterns, acquire materials, assemble pieces, and finish projects with step-by-step instructions and support along the way! This course will be taught in the style of the working bees from our history. The instructor will demonstrate a skill, then attendees will be given “workshop” time to practice their new skills. Over the course of six weeks, we will have the opportunity to fine-tune our skills and build a friendship afghan using more advanced patterns.

Classes run from 3:30-5:00 PM at The New School, 38 York Street, Kennebunk. Open to ages 13+. Only 12 spots available, so register early!

• Full 6-week course costs $140 and includes all material costs.
• Single sessions cost $20 and do not include any materials.

This series of classes runs on Tuesdays between April 23rd and May 12th. Classes are:

• Week 1 (Tuesday, April 23): Choosing a Pattern & Materials
• Week 2 (Tuesday, April 30): Pattern Notes & Gauge
• Week 3 (Tuesday, May 7): Learning Crochet Shorthand
• Week 4 (Tuesday, May 14): Pattern Stitches & Practice
• Week 5 (Tuesday, May 21): Blocking
• Week 6 (Tuesday, May 28): Assembly and Borders

There is also a drop-in opportunity during the workshop time (4:00-5:00PM) for participants that aren’t interested in the skills instruction, but would like to join a like-minded community of crafters to work on their own projects. Drop-in cost for a workshop session is $15.
