The New School Presents: Common Ground

The New School Presents the multiple award winning film Common Ground to be shown on Friday, October 25th at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church on 114 Main Street, Kennebunk. Bowls of Hope: November 2

Join us for the 2nd Annual Bowls of Hope, sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank: a fundraising event on Saturday, November 2, 4:30-7 PM, at The New School, 38 York St, Kennebunk. Bowls of Hope is a warm, cozy night of wonderful soups and bread from local restaurants. Sample the soups, then fill a handmade bowl with your favorite soup and grab some bread for dipping. Bowls have been handmade by The New School's students, with time and materials graciously donated by The Cellar Co., and are yours to keep after the event. Thanksgiving Pie Fundraiser!

The New School partners with Lyman Orchards to bring you fresh fruit and sweet dessert pies, ready in time for Thanksgiving! Pies will be available for pickup at The New School at dismissal (3:30 pm) on Tuesday, November 19th, on the week before Thanksgiving! Pies arrive frozen, and your students will have them ready for pickup and distribution. Apple Caramel Walnut, a decadent take on Lyman's classic apple pie. The Return of the Robotics Team

Our award-winning and incredibly fun robotics competition team returns for a new season! Teams of high school students compete in building industrial-sized robots to play difficult field games and ally with other teams. Are you between the ages of 13 and 18? Interested in STEM? Robotics? Coding? Just building things? DO YOU LIKE ROBOTS? (They are pretty awesome.) Yes? Contact our Robotics Coach, MaryBeth Luce and get signed up! The New School’s 23-24 Annual Report is Available

Our Annual Report went out in the mail last week and, if you haven't seen it yet, you're in for a treat. Inside you'll find a recap of the school year: classes, travel, community activism and engagement, financial highlights, and more! Did you know that Outta the Box provided nearly a third of TNS' revenue to support our school's mission? Between them, donations, and grants, make up almost half of the school's income. Pride Pizza Party

The New School is excited to announce its first-ever Pride Pizza Party, a community event celebrating inclusivity and community spirit. The event will take place on Saturday, June 29, from Noon to 3:00 PM at The New School, located at 38 York Street in Kennebunk. We invite attendees to park at our neighbor, A Joyful Noise, at 34 York Street. End of School Year LEAP Night

Our end of the school year LEAP Night is coming up on June 11th (a Tuesday)! LEAP (Learning Exhibitions And Performances) was created by our founding students as a celebration of learning. Students will create informative and interactive displays of their work from the semester and talk to the public about their growth and experiences. As part of the event, members of the community participate on a student's LEAP Feedback Team to listen to our students explain what they've learned over the year and, using guided questions, have a conversation with our learners about their work. Pride in the Bunks

This coming Saturday, June 8th, The New School will be at Pride in the Bunks, the annual Kennebunkport Pride gathering in its third year. Pride in the Bunks, a completely free and welcoming event, will be based just off of Dock Square at the South Church River Green (just on the inland side of the public parking lot). There's going to be entertainment, food, crafts and more from noon until 3pm on that Saturday. The New School will have a pop-up photo booth with glamourous costumes from Outta The Box. Creativity One Ten 100 at TNS

Fritz Grobe recently conducted a workshop for students and teachers here at The New School. The event, designed to inspire creativity and highlight the importance of perseverance, was a resounding success, engaging our learners in improvisation exercises and a unique activity involving creative uses for tissues. Fritz, a co-founder of EepyBird, is renowned for his viral online videos featuring the explosive combination of Coke and Mentos that have been seen by over 150 million people, won four Webby Awards, and been nominated for two Emmys.
