Robotics Demo at Kennebunk HarvestFest

The New School's robotics team, The Rainbow Junkyard, will be at HarvestFest on Saturday, October 9th, from 9 am until 2 pm. Come see Buster, last year's champion robot, in action. This industrial-sized robot was built, programmed, and run by students from The New School, homeschooled students, and students from nearby high school districts. Our robotics coach and team members will be on hand to show you how fun the FIRST Robotics competition is.

The Return of the Robotics Team

Our award-winning and incredibly fun robotics competition team returns for a new season! Teams of high school students compete in building industrial-sized robots to play difficult field games and ally with other teams. Are you between the ages of 13 and 18? Interested in STEM? Robotics? Coding? Just building things? DO YOU LIKE ROBOTS? (They are pretty awesome.) Yes? Contact our Robotics Coach, MaryBeth Luce and get signed up! The team is a safe place — members of the LBGTQ+ community are encouraged to reach out if they are interested!

Build a Robot!

In the sport, teams of students build and program industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game against other teams. It's as close to real-world engineering as a student can get! We'll be building a robot in January and February, getting it ready for our competitions in March. There is no fee for participants. Practices will be at the Maine Mall on [...]
