Sela heading to an interview

For my senior project I’m filming my FIRST documentary called The Epitome of Unique and Sustainable Lifestyles. I’m a beginner to film and interviewing people, but so far, it’s been some of the best experiences of my life. The concept and message of my documentary is to discover what the true healthy ways of living are for our body, mind, and spirituality, how the Earth and us can live in harmony again, and meeting people who chose a different path to find something more so we can come together and show the world our story, and make an impact for all our lives.

It's Sela!My trip with Miles and my family to New Mexico was an experience of a lifetime. Knowing that this trip was for school purposes, and that I didn’t have to worry about missing school is so relieving! I’ve done two interviews so far with Marylyn as my first, and Michael Reynolds who is the creator of Earthships from Taos New Mexico! We stayed in the Phoenix Earthship off-grid in the Earthship community, or the “neighborhood” as the locals call it. It was probably the best place I’ve ever stayed in my LIFE, and I was so overwhelmed by everything about it! The garden, the bottle and tire walls, the bathrooms, the fireplace with a waterfall, the big kitchen, the coy fish pond, the two little birdies, EVERYTHING!

I also got to go to Chimayo, which is an old church in Taos; my favorite chocolate place in the world, Kakawa in Santa Fe; the 1000 year-old currently working Pueblo in the heart of Santa Fe; the insane Meow Wolf in Santa Fe—and we got to see a herd of cows running down the road so we had to back up on the side of the road! There’s also probably a lot more. I’m SO grateful for everything on this trip. Miles being by my side to help me film, my parents supporting me on this whole journey as well as making this experience happen, and especially meeting the one and only Michael who is one of biggest my inspirations, and staying in my dream home which I can’t wait to build one day!
